Sliding Window Averaging Demo NormDesigner43361 × Norm Member for 7 years 11 months 328 designs 2 groups Title Description
Demonstrates the operation of a sliding window averaging filter and its reverse operation.

The signal sources at the left generate test signals for transient and AC simulation. The AC test is just a unity magnitude constant at all frequencies. Tran_Test is an 80KHz square wave with a 200KHz ripple.

There are two instances of the Sliding_Window module. avg averages the tests signal aoolied with a 5us averaging window matched to the 200KHz ripple. In a time domain simulation, this filter cancels the ripple and leaves a smoothed square wave as its output.

The second Sliding_Window filter named reverse, is configured in reverse mode with the same parameters as the first filter. Restores the 200KHz ripple.

In an AC analysis the excitation is a flat spectrum input for which "avg" outputs its transfer function with the characteristic lobes of the sinc(x) = sin(pi*x)/(pi*x). The "reverse" filter restores the unity magnitude of the flat spectrum input source except for a low pass characteristic used by the model to stabilize the derivative operation central to its operation.
About text formats Tags AveragingWindow Select a tag from the list or create your own.Drag to re-order taxonomy terms.
